Vocational training discovery evening

The Vocational Training Discovery Evening returns to Gatineau on 13 May, offering a hands-on introduction to career opportunities throughout the Outaouais region. Organised by FP Outaouais and the Carrefour jeunesse emploi (CJE) de l’Outaouais, the free event runs from 5 - 8 pm at the CJE’s offices, located at 350 boulevard de la Gappe in Gatineau.
This third edition of the event invites students, job seekers, career changers, and lifelong learners to explore local vocational and continuing education programmes. Visitors will be able to speak with teachers and advisors, learn about financial aid and admissions, and get practical information on training paths that lead to in-demand careers.
Interactive stations will allow participants to try out different trades, and the “Défi-évasion” game will add a playful, puzzle-solving twist to the evening.
Organisers say it’s a chance for residents—from high school graduates to mid-career professionals—to get inspired and discover how vocational training can open new doors.
FP Outaouais oversees training across four French-language school service centres in the region, while CJE de l’Outaouais supports people aged 16 to 35 in achieving their professional or academic goals.
