During their November 25 meeting, Gatineau’s Municipal Council unanimously adopted the appointments of councillors to various councils, committees and commissions.
“Tonight, we will be adopting the nominations to city’s councils, committees and commissions. This is the starting point for our new mandate, as we name the roles that our elected representatives will occupy,” said Mayor Maude Marquis-Bissonnette during the municipal council meeting. “My proposal is based on the meetings that I had with the elected representatives over the last few weeks, focusing on each councillor's interests and strengths. It is not easy to make as a proposal because we want everyone to be well represented through this.”
The mayor emphasized that she wanted to ensure that each committee and council have representatives from each side of the city, has both men and women, and members with different political affiliations. “I am confident that the proposal will ensure all members can best contribute and make better decisions for Gatineau.”
