Liberals sweep Outaouais ridings

The federal election took place on April 28. Elections Canada’s preliminary estimates reveal that 19,583,016 Canadians cast a ballot making the voter turnout 68.65%.
Provincially, 43% of Quebec voters in this election voted for the Liberal Party. The Bloc Québécois received 27.9% of votes; the Conservative Party got 23.5%; the New Democratic Party (NDP) received 4.5%; and the Green Party got 0.9%.
Following are the results for the electoral ridings on Gatineau’s territory.
Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi results
- Sophie Chatel, Incumbent (Liberal Party of Canada): 32,149 votes (54.6%)
- Brian Nolan (Conservative Party of Canada): 16,174 votes (27.5%)
- Suzanne Proulx (Bloc Québécois): 6,099 votes (10.4%)
- Gilbert W. Whiteduck (NDP): 2,990 votes (5.1%)
- Claude Bertrand (Green Party): 750 votes (1.3%)
- Todd Hoffman (People’s Party of Canada): 676 votes (1.1%)
Aylmer-Hull results
- Greg Fergus, Incumbent (Liberal Party): 32,036 votes (62.3%)
- Jill Declare (Conservative Party): 8,646 votes (16.8%)
- Alice Grondin (Bloc Québécois): 6,235 votes (12.1%)
- Pascale Matecki (NDP): 2,851 votes (5.5%)
- Frédéric Morin-Paquette (Green Party): 1,129 votes (2.2%)
- Jean-Jacques Desgranges (People’s Party of Canada): 349 votes (0.7%)
- Alexandre Deschênes (Marxist-Leninist Party): 207 votes (0.4%)
