Gatineau appoints new deputy executive director of sustainable development

Véronique Angers has been appointed executive director of sustainable development with the city. She will officially take office on March 23. Angers has over 13 years of experience working in municipalities with expertise in land management and planning, mobility, as well as environment and economic development.


“We are delighted to welcome Véronique Angers to our executive team. Her inspiring leadership, strategic vision and ability to mobilize her teams are real assets for Gatineau. Her proactive approach and commitment to sustainable development will benefit our citizens," said Simon Rousseau, Executive Director of the City of Gatineau.


Angers worked at the City of Montreal for 10 years holding a variety of management positions including the head of division for strategy and development for the large parks, mount royal and sports department. She held the position of Director of Urban planning and development with the City of Magog in 2022. In 2023, she was the deputy director general responsible for development, land management, environment, mobility, and economic development with the City of Sherbrooke.


In terms of education, Angers has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Laval. She has two master’s degrees, the first in administration from the University of Sherbrooke as well as a master’s in urban planning from the University of Montreal.
