Café Autiste in Old Hull to open on September 16

After several years of preparation, the Café Autiste (Autism Café) will officially welcome its first customers on September 16. Located at 95 Eddy Street in Old Hull, the Café aims to offer an inclusive work environment that promotes training and professional integration for autistic individuals, among others.

The announcement marks the culmination of several years of planning, including several weeks of renovations to create a space adapted to the needs of future employees and customers.

Designed as a welcoming and supportive environment, the Café seeks to offer concrete opportunities for skills development and work experience to autistic individuals, while raising awareness about the importance of inclusion in the workplace. “There’s a lack of opportunities for autistic people, and we’re here to give them this opportunity for suitable, stimulating employment that’s adapted to their needs,” said Béatrice Béarez, co-founder of the café.

Before the official opening, the team also plans to present more information about how the café will operate, the products that will be offered, and the measures in place to make the experience as inclusive as possible for both employees and visitors.

In a message released to announce the opening date, the project leaders thanked the many partners, volunteers, and community members who have supported the initiative since its inception. Special thanks were extended to BBL Construction, a project partner, for its contribution to the construction and creation of this new space. Café Autiste is committed to social and professional inclusion by focusing on the strengths and potential of autistic people. Starting September 16, residents will be able to discover this new establishment, destined to become a meeting place, a hub for awareness and integration in the heart of Old Hull.
